Lesson 11: Laughter- Stacy Wells offers FREE COACHING for 30 Days

A customer was bothering the waiter in a restaurant. First, he asked that the air conditioning be turned up because he was too hot, then he asked that it be turned down because it was to cold. This went on for about half an hour. Surprisingly, the waiter was very patient; he walked back and forth adjusting the temperature without ever getting angry. So finally, a second customer asked him why he didn’t throw out the other demanding customer.” Oh, I don’t really care, or mind,” said the waiter with a smile. “We don’t even have an air conditioner.”

I love to laugh! I often laugh so hard I make myself cry and my stomach cramp up. I can’t imagine my life without laughter. It is an essential ingredient in your life recipe! According to a study done by the University of Maryland Medical Center, a good hearty plate of laughter has many benefits. It can help to reduce stress, lower your blood pressure, elevate your mood, improve your brain functioning, and just give you an overall sense of happiness. So, not only does it improve your mood, but it also improves your overall health and well-being. Funny things are everywhere if you just look around. You have access to an unlimited amount of jokes and funny videos online, and don’t forget about “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” they always have something worth laughing about. Laughter is such a vital part of life. Think about a time when someone around you was laughing hysterically ; wasn’t it hard not to laugh right along with them, even if you didn’t know what it was they were laughing at? That’s because laughter is contagious. Even in the worst mood possible, where there is laughter, you are bound to catch yourself smiling or laughing with them. Since there are so many benefits to laughing, I want you to laugh at anything and everything possible today. Laugh until you are doubled over from a stomach ache and your eyes are watering. Laugh until you can’t laugh anymore because once you allow yourself to stop engaging in the things which will support your wellness, you will become “the stick in the mud.” Start today by pulling the stick out, and laughing it up… you have nothing to loose, and everything to gain!
